About The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen

The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen) was founded in accordance with the Regulations of the People’s Republic of China on Chinese-foreign Cooperation in Running Schools upon approval by the Ministry of Education. The University is committed to providing top-quality higher education that features an integration of the East and the West and fostering an enriching research environment. It is CUHK-Shenzhen’s mission to cultivate innovative talents with a global perspective, Chinese cultural traditions and social responsibilities.


About Shenzhen

Shenzhen is a city in the province of Guangdong, China. A special economic zone, it is located on the east bank of the Pearl River estuary on the central coast of Guangdong, bordering Hong Kong to the south, Dongguan to the north, Huizhou to the northeast, and Macau to the southwest. With a population of 17.5 million in 2020, Shenzhen is the third most populous city by urban population in China after Shanghai and Beijing. The Port of Shenzhen is the world's fourth busiest container port.

 

Courses

CUHK (SZ) has 8 schools. Students are allowed to choose courses across all schools (except Clinical Medicine and all majors in School of Music) if they meet the pre-requisites and quota is available. Postgraduate courses are not offered to undergraduate exchange students. Please click HERE for more details. Courses are taught in English.


Important notes
  • Host Institutions usually organize orientation activities for exchange students, with some mandatory, which take place 1 week before the start of the term. You should refer to the acceptance package (if applicable) and pay attention to all the important information provided by your host institution.
  • You should only depart after finishing all the final examinations (including resits) and/or assessments since host institutions will not make alternative arrangements.
