About SNU International Summer Program (ISP)

SNU International Summer Program (ISP) presents a unique opportunity for students to experience academic life at Seoul National University, Korea’s most prestigious university and one of the leading universities in the world. SNU International Summer Program (ISP)’s intensive five-week summer program taught by distinguished SNU and visiting faculty members offers its participants the chance to learn in depth from experts on Korea and East Asia, as well as a range of topics from the disciplines of Economics and Business Management to History, Politics, Sociology, Engineering and Natural Sciences, and Arts. The SNU International Summer Program (ISP) also provides courses on Korean language and traditional arts for students wishing acquire or advance their Korean language abilities while immersing Korea’s contemporary and traditional culture.

  • Host Institutions may provide orientation activities for students, with some mandatory, which you should attend. You are required to pay attention to the host institution's arrival information and arrive in time.
  • You should only depart after completion of the program (i.e. finishing all final examinations and/or assessments, both compulsory and optional ones).


Fees

This is a fee-paying program and HKUST students will bear the program fee and the costs for accommodation, travel, visa, insurance, personal expenses and other fees incurred by the program. For details about fees, please CLICK HERE.

Eligibility

HKUST students must apply through the Office of Global Learning. Individual direct application to the host institution will not be accepted. You are eligible to apply for the program if you:

Visa Information

Students may require obtaining a visa to participate in this program depending on your nationality.

With reference to the information given by the Consulate General, students who attend a credit-bearing summer/winter school program should apply for D-2-8 visa. Therefore, we strongly advise students to apply for D-2-8 type visa, even though some host institutions would also recommend students to apply for C-3-1 type.

Insurance

HKUST students who take part in the University's study abroad programs will be covered by the University's Travel Insurance Plan. Please CLICK HERE for details.


Accommodation

HKUST students must stay in one of the accommodation options offered by the host institution (if applicable). If you choose not to stay in any of them, you must obtain a pre-approval from HKUST by emailing OGL at study.abroad@ust.hk.
