About The London School of Economics and Political Science

Founded in 1895, LSE is a global community of people and ideas in the heart of central London. It is a specialist social sciences university, ranked the top university in the UK in its social science disciplines.

About LSE Summer School

Established in 1989, LSE Summer School is now the largest of its kind in the whole of Europe. The programme offers courses from a diverse range of disciplines including business and management, accounting, finance, law, economics, international relations, and more. From Economic Policy to Cyberlaw, the courses are wide-ranging and aim to suit all interests.

Created by LSE faculty and taught to a degree standard by LSE lecturers, the programmes are designed to give students the same learning experience as full-time students. Students can study for six or nine weeks, in one of the most well-renowned institutions and greatest cities in the world.

Notes:

  • Host Institutions may provide orientation activities for students, with some mandatory, which you should attend. You are required to pay attention to the host institution's arrival information and arrive in time.
  • You should only depart after completion of the program (i.e. finishing all final examinations and/or assessments, both compulsory and optional ones).


Fees

This is a fee-paying program and HKUST-nominated students will bear the tuition fee and the costs for accommodation, meals, travel, visa, insurance, personal expenses and all other fees incurred by the program. For details about fees, please CLICK HERE.

HKUST students must apply through the Office of Global Learning. Individual direct application to the host institution will not be accepted. You are eligible to apply for the program if you:

Visa Information

Students may be required to apply for a visa to attend the program. Please refer to the website of Government of UK for information.


Health Insurance

HKUST students who take part in the University's study abroad programs will be covered by the University's Travel Insurance Plan. Please CLICK HERE for details.


Accommodation

HKUST students must stay in one of the accommodation options offered by the host institution (if applicable). If you choose not to stay in any of them, you must obtain a pre-approval from HKUST by emailing OGL at study.abroad@ust.hk.
